Therapist Profile

Monica LaBrie, PhD, MSW, BCBA, LSWAIC

I started my career ago as Board Certified Behavior Analyst providing behavioral therapy to children with autism and adults with intellectual disabilities.  I have provided supports to families and caregivers, including siblings.  I have also worked with clients who have experienced trauma including victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.  I have over 20 years of experience in the behavioral and mental health field.

In addition to a Master of Arts in Psychology with a specialization in Applied Behavior Analysis (2007), I also have a PhD in Educational Psychology (2019) and a Master of Social Work (2024).  I am licensed in the state of Washington as a clinical social worker associate (LSWAIC) dedicated to helping individuals overcome challenges and find their strengths to empower them to live meaningful, independent lives. I regularly receive clinical supervision from a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LISCW) who is also licensed in the state of Washington. I am also licensed as a BCBA (LBA) and a Master Social Worker (LMSW) in the state of Texas.

I use an eclectic approach to therapy which is heavily grounded in cognitive behavioral therapies such as mindfulness-based interventions and acceptance and commitment therapy. I also use trauma-informed, strength-based interventions, and a person-centered approach aimed at creating a safe space where clients feel empowered to find and cultivate their own strengths and push toward resiliency and living the life they desire.
